Gene SummersBorn: Gene Summers was born in Dallas, Texas
Biggest Hit(s): Gene begin his music career while still in high school. Gene and his band the Rebels came to the attention of song writer Jed Carver who brought them to Jan records in Dallas a newly formed label by oil millionaire Thomas Fleeger who signed Gene as his first artist. His first release "School Of Rock and Roll" became a nation wide hit in 1958 then the flip side " Straight Skirt " became a hit also. Gene had other hits on Jan with " Nervous ", Got A Lotta That ", Alabama Shake ", and Twixteen. A few years later Gene had a huge hit in country music with " Big Blue Diamond ". Gene left the entertainment business in the 60's and went into Real Estate in Dallas where he is very successful. Today Gene enjoys the good life in Dallas his wife Dee and his son's which have joined him in the Real Estate business.
Current Status: Gene still performs worldwide at oldies shows and will celebrate 50 years as a recording artist in 2008.
Inducted: Gene was inducted in Sept 2005 in Hollywood, CA by The Southern Legends Entertainment and Performing Artist Hall of Fame West Eoast Executive of Operations John Rhys.
