Charles Eugene
Pat Boone |
Born: June 1, 1934
in Jacksonville, FL
Biography: Pat Boone was one of the biggest Rock
'n' Roll artists of the 50's and had many hit records in the 50's
and 60's. One of the biggest, "Ain't That A Shame" was
released on Dot Records in June of 1955. He starred in many movies
and had his own TV show and always seemed to wear white buck shoes.
Current Status: Today Pat lives in Beverly Hills,
CA, and continues to record and perform.

Fred Lincoln
"Link" Wray |
Born: May 2, 1935
in Dunn, North Carolina.
Biography: "Link" Wray had a smash hit
" Rumble " on Cadence in 1958. One the most prolific rock
guitarist of all time taught an entire generation of youth in the
50's the meaning of Rock n Roll through the strings of his guitar.
No guitarist after " Rumble " could touch what Link Wray
could do on a six string electric guitar. He was a true pioneer
of the power cord that he introduced with " Rawhide "
and "Jack The Ripper" in 1959. He was without a doubt
the man who set the standard for anyone who picked up a guitar after
"Rumble," considered the greatest Rock 'n' Roll instrumental
ever recorded.
Current Status: Link Wray passed away in 2002 in
Denmark.
Inducted: September 11, 2007 at the First Annual
Inductions Awards Ceremony in Oklahoma, City, OK. He was also given
The Lifetime Achievement Award accepted by his daughter Beth Wray
Webb.

Vernon Wray
(Ray Vernon) |
Born: June 12 1933
Dunn, North Carolina and brother of Link Wray.
Biography:: Vernon (stage name Ray Vernon) Wray's
biggest hit was "Evil Angel" on Cameo in 1958. He was manager of
Link Wray and The Wraymen. Produced most of the records of Link
Wray. Vernon was an engineer and owned his own recording studio
in Washington, DC. He had a beautiful voice and might have gone
on to a successful recording career had he not chosen to manage
and operate his own record company.
Current Status: Passed on.

Inductions Awards Ceremony in Oklahoma, City, OK. Beth Wray Webb
received the induction for her late uncle Ray Vernon.

Doug Wray |
Born: January 22,
1935 in Dunn, North Carolina
Biography:: "Goosebumps" on "Scotty
" records in 1961. Drummer for Link Wray and part of the Wraymen
band for over 25 years. He played drums on all Link Wray's hits
including "Rumble", "Rawhide", and "Jack
The Ripper". Doug Wray was one of the best drummers of rock
'n' roll in the 50's and 60's. Played on over 1500 recordings from
1951 until his passing in 1981.
Current Status: Passed on in 1981.

Inductions Awards Ceremony in Oklahoma, City, OK. Beth Wray Webb
received the induction for her uncle Doug Wray.

Mitchell Torok |
Born: October 28,
1929 in Houston, TX.
Biggest Hit(s): "Caribbean" recorded
in 1950. During the 50's Mitchell was a regular on the "Louisiana
Hayride ".
Current Status: Mitchell is retired and lives in
Antioch, TN.

James Kirkland |
Born: May 15 1934
in Linden, TX.
Biography: Considered the best stand up Bass player
in rock 'n' roll in the 50's. Began his career in 1954 as a bass
player on the Louisiana Hayride. Was an original member of Bob Lumans
band "The Shadows," which included James Burton and Butch
White. They played on Bob Lumans Imperial recording of " Red
Cadillac and Black Mustache " which is considered one the purest
rock 'n' roll records ever recorded. James left Bob Luman and went
to Hollywood to become a member of Rick Nelsons band which recorded
some of the best rock 'n' roll records of the 50's.
James played stand up bass on Rick Nelsons " Believe What You
Say " which is considered the best Rock n Roll record of the
50's if not in fact the best Rock n Roll recording ever. James had
a four slap beat on the stand up bass that could only be played
correctly by him. Many tried to copy his style.
James played on The ABC-Paramount recording by Bobby Lee Trammell
" Shirley Lee " one of the most sought after recording
of the 50's and considered to be the purest Rock n Roll recording
ever recorded.
James went on to work with Dale Hawkins, David Houston, Jim Reeves,
and Tony Douglas before he retired from the music business in 1963
Current Status: Today James is retired, he was
an excellent welder by trade and retired from that line of work
at his shop in Atherns, TX in in 1991.

Michael Twitty |
Born: Nashville,TN.
Son of famous Rock n Roll and Country music singer Conway Twitty
Biography: Michael has kept the legacy going by
performing his dad's hits. Michael is a fine polished performer
and keeps busy writing songs and recording new material.
Current Status: Michael lives in Nashville and
continues to perform and record.
Inducted: September 11, 2007 at the First Annual
Inductions Awards Ceremony in Oklahoma, City, OK. Michael also accepted
The Lifetime Achievement Award for his dad Conway Twitty.
